We're a friendly club, so wherever possible it is expected that while racing, members will exemplify the Corinthian spirit and good sportsmanship at all times. Members are expected to: • Read and understand the Racing Rules of Sailing; •Avoid contact with other vessels on the racecourse at all costs, even if this means giving up a tactical advantage during a race.
If you feel an infraction has been committed, and the other vessel(s) have not exonerated themselves by taking the prescribed penalty, then a protest may be filed as per the prescriptions of Part 5 of the Racing Rules of Sailing: • Immediately advising the vessel you intend to protest on the water by hailing, PROTEST!" • If your vessel is over 6m in length (that includes San Juan 21s), you MUST also display a conspicuous red flag until you are no longer racing. This flag is distinct from any other fleet identifiers or other markings on the vessel. • Within two hours of coming ashore, complete and submit our Online Protest Form. |
